“Maie, like the month”.
Maie Atabani is a Palestinian/Sudanese visual artist and illustrator living in Chicago, IL.
Maie has spent the last 18 years on a variety of art & design endeavors including campaign artwork for the film festivals and book fairs; a visual atlas of the United Arab Emirates, and contributing to “Rivers of the world”, an international arts project sponsored by the British Council where she worked with children from public schools to create large scale artwork exhibited in London and Dubai.
All her projects have been inspired by her travels around the world and the similarities and stories that connect us all as human beings.
More recently, Maie has been working with AbelsonTaylor, the largest privately owned health and wellness agency creating and supervising projects and campaigns for various health brands. You can view her professional work here.
Her biggest passion project is handmaied, where she expresses her love for illustration and surface pattern design and seeing them come to life on products such as fabric, home goods, stationery, and apparel.
